Course Objective
To teach the nature of light and the laws of geometric optics, to understand the phenomena of reflection, refraction, diffraction and interference and to examine the formation of images in mirrors and lenses.
Brief Content of the Course
Light and optics. Reflection, refraction, diffraction and interference phenomena. Huygens' principle. Geometric optics. Image formation in plane and spherical mirrors. Image formation in lenses.
