Course Objective
The aim of this course is to provide students with the technical and legal knowledge required to implement land consolidation projects, which aim to ensure the efficient, orderly, and planned use of agricultural land. Students gain practical understanding of the process, from analyzing existing land parcels to creating new land distribution plans. Land consolidation efforts contribute to increased agricultural productivity, more efficient delivery of infrastructure services, and the sustainability of rural development by reorganizing fragmented agricultural lands. In this context, the course plays a vital role in promoting natural resource conservation and sustainable agricultural practices.
Brief Content of the Course
In this course, students are introduced to land consolidation projects, covering topics such as project area selection, feasibility studies, and the examination of ownership, cadastre, and land registry data. The analysis of existing land use is conducted using base maps and digital data to evaluate the current situation. Infrastructure planning, including roads, irrigation, and drainage systems, aims to achieve efficient land use and increased productivity. The preparation of new parceling plans, the calculation of distribution principles, and parcel allocation are carried out with a fair, balanced, and sustainable approach. Expropriation, easement rights, and public interest issues are examined within a legal framework, while farmer consultations promote participatory planning. A project implementation plan and timeline are developed, followed by field applications such as marking, control, and compliance checks. In the final stage, the project report is prepared, presentation techniques are applied, and the final evaluation and project submission are completed. Throughout all stages, sustainability principles guide the process to protect natural resources, enhance agricultural efficiency, ensure social participation, and support rural development.
