Course Objective
To reach a solution the context of housing (shelter) by combination of different functions in mind and provide transition from initial design experience in "Introduction to Architectural Design" to research, development and application levels.
Brief Content of the Course
Functional analysis, elaborated study of climate and environmental data, concepts of organization, landscape, material, frame and structure for a building with medium complexity; improvement of design observing the cases such as culture, technology and load-bearing system. Analysis of man’s basic needs, related actions and behaviors, and spaces in relation to a function such as housing; gaining a design method by creating a function-relation diagram; assessing the landscape and topography by using climatic and environmental data; application of principals of frame, material and structural systems.
