Course Objective
: The aim of this course is to equip the students with the knowledge of urban and architectural approaches resulted from the social and cultural developments following the Industrial Revolution in the 19th century; the architectural movements emerged in the 20th century after the industrialization and the leading architects; Modernism, Post-Modernism and Contemporary Architecture.
Brief Content of the Course
: Within the range of Modernism and Post-Modernism, the emergence of architectural movements, leading architects, concepts and their application following the social and cultural developments occurred after the Industrial Revolution; Modern architecture, Industrialization, Arts and Crafts, Cubism, Expressionism, Bauhaus, Le Corbusier, Brutalism, Post-modernism, Deconstructivism, High-Tech.
