Course Objective
To develop students' technical skills on their individual instruments to an advanced level.
Brief Content of the Course
Violin: Strengthening skills; advanced bow techniques; left-hand four-finger exercises; position shifts; détaché and legato development; performance of national and international works. Viola: Control and retention of first-position skills; mixed bow and string-jumping exercises; détaché and legato bowing; double-stop and arpeggio studies in positions I–II; basic vibrato knowledge; national and international polyphonic solo or accompanied works. Violoncello: Reinforcement of position skills; left-hand four-finger exercises; position shifts; mixed bow exercises; détaché and legato development; vibrato basics; technical and musical skill application; national and international works. Contrabass: Reinforcement of position skills; diversified right-hand bow techniques; left-hand four-finger exercises; position shifts; mixed bowing; détaché and legato development; pizzicato basics; technical and musical skill application. Bağlama: Playing and studying songs in Kurdish, Hicaz, and Karcığar positions. Flute: Third-octave production; new finger patterns; articulation, finger, and breathing exercises; vibrato basics; diatonic and chromatic scales, arpeggios; performance of Baroque, Classical, Romantic, national and international works. Guitar: Continuation of individual technique and musical development; apoyando, tirando, arpeggio, barre, legato studies; three-octave single-note exercises; classical guitar repertoire study; interpretation, aesthetics, musicality, and discussion. Ud: Hüseyni, Bayati, Uşşak, Segah, Evic; first- and second-position exercises; performance of Turkish repertoire; use of Devri Turan and Hindi methods; tremolo technique.
