Course Objective
Students should develop their technical skills related to individual instruments at an advanced level..
Brief Content of the Course
Violin: Reinforces previously learned skills; new-position and transitional studies; martelé and staccato bow techniques; permanent and transient studies in different positions; series exercises in different keys covering four octaves; performance of national and international works at an appropriate technical and musical level. Viola: Control and retention of third-position skills; permanent and transient studies in I–III positions; martelé and staccato bowing; pizzicato exercises; chord and scale studies in position I; small-scale national and international polyphonic solo or accompanied works. Violoncello: Reinforces skills; new-position and transitional studies; martelé and staccato bow techniques; permanent and transient studies in different positions; four-octave series exercises; performance of national and international works appropriate to technical and musical level. Contrabass: Reinforces skills; new-position and transitional studies; martelé and staccato bow techniques; permanent and transient studies; series exercises in different keys covering four octaves; technical and musical skill application in national and international repertoire. Bağlama: Exercises using all strings in various tunings; preparatory work for Zeybek attitude; relevant technical and stylistic studies. Flute: Continuation of basic technique studies; ornamentation and nuance according to historical style; performance of level-appropriate solo, duet, and accompanied works from national and international repertoire. Guitar: Continuation of individual technique and musical development; apoyando, tirando, arpeggio, barre, legato, and ornamentation techniques; three-octave single-note exercises; speed and nuance practices; study of Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, national and international repertoire; emphasis on interpretation, aesthetics, and musicality. Ud: Fast-finger exercises in II position; combined use of I and II positions; tremolo, vibrato, trill, staccato, glissando techniques; interpretation of works with technical applications; practice of nuances and notations; Hüzzam, Karcığar, Uşşak makam studies; Aksak, Aksak Semai, Curcuna examples; development of musical creativity and makam knowledge through taksim; practice of 7/8, 9/8, 10/8 rhythms and sample repertoire.
