Course Objective
Students should develop their technical skills related to individual instruments at an advanced level.
Brief Content of the Course
Violin: Permanent and transient application of techniques, knowledge, and skills in new and different positions; left-hand exercises to improve vibrato; spiccato bowing; scale and arpeggio studies covering learned positions; performance of national and international works with appropriate technical and musical skills. Violoncello: Permanent and transient application of techniques, knowledge, and skills in new positions; playing in different positions; left-hand vibrato exercises; spiccato bowing; scale studies covering different positions; performance of national and international works with technical and musical skills. Viola: IV-position permanent and I–IV transient studies; spiccato bowing; double-stop and scale studies in positions I–III; performance of national and international polyphonic solo or accompanied works. Contrabass: Permanent and transient application of techniques, knowledge, and skills in new positions; transient practice in different positions; left-hand vibrato exercises; spiccato bowing; playing different strings in various positions and tones; performance of national and international works with appropriate technical and musical skills. Bağlama: Mastery of traditional Azeri attitudes and related stylistic techniques. Flute: Playing Turkish rhythms and melodies; intonation exercises in simple makams; analysis and interpretation of piano-accompanied works. Guitar: Apoyando, tirando, arpeggio, barre, legato, ornamentation (mordent, groupetto, appoggiatura), glissando techniques; three-octave single-note exercises; pizzicato, tremolo, rasguado, golpe techniques; study and performance of Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and contemporary works. Ud: Study of Nikriz, Hicazkar, Kürdilihicazkar, and Neveser makams; building Turkish music repertoire; III–IV position exercises; position shifts across I–IV; technical exercises including mordent, grupetto; mastery of Evic, Frahnak, Şedaraban, Ferahfeza, Sultaniyegah makams; performance of works by Targan, Bacanos, Tanrikorur; use of Evfer and Raks Fill methods.
