Course Objective
This course aims to foster a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental concepts of special education; to provide knowledge concerning the classification, diagnosis, and early intervention processes of children with special needs; to examine their developmental and educational characteristics; and to enhance the competencies of prospective teachers in family collaboration and support services.
Brief Content of the Course
This course addresses the fundamental concepts of special education, processes of special education and assessment, family education, and specific areas including intellectual disabilities, hearing impairments, visual impairments, learning disabilities, speech and language disorders, autism spectrum disorder, and gifted and talented individuals.
