Course Objective
The primary objective of this course is to enable associate degree students to recognize potential ethical dilemmas they may encounter in their professional lives, to adopt professional behavioral standards and ethical principles, and to gain the competence to make responsible decisions in accordance with these principles.
Brief Content of the Course
The course begins by defining the concepts of ethics and morality; it examines the historical development, importance, and necessity of professional ethics. It focuses on universal ethical principles that form the basis of professional conduct, such as honesty, impartiality, responsibility, confidentiality, competence (merit), and compliance with the law. Within the scope of the course, topics such as professional organizations, ethical codes, common unethical behaviors in the workplace (mobbing, discrimination, conflict of interest), corporate social responsibility, and professional corruption are discussed through case studies.
