Course Objective
The course covers in detail the classification of solid waste, as well as methods of source separation, collection, transport, recycling and disposal. Local government practices and waste management legislation are also examined within the scope of this course

Sources, types and characteristics of solid waste; principles of waste reduction, reuse and recycling; methods of collection, transport, storage and disposal; controlled landfill sites; waste management planning; examination of environmental impacts and sustainable waste management approaches.
