Course Objective
The aim of this course is to examine social security systems and social security law from conceptual, historical, and legal perspectives; to evaluate social security practices in Turkey and around the world comparatively; and to enable students to understand social security rights, obligations, and their relationship with social services.
Brief Content of the Course
The course covers the concept, historical development, and fundamental principles of social security. It includes social insurance, social assistance, social services, contributory and non-contributory systems, unemployment insurance, and pension schemes. The Turkish social security system (SGK, İş-Kur, etc.) and international social security standards are discussed, along with current issues and reform debates in social security law.
