Course Objective
To introduce the basic principles of ecological/eco-sensitive urbanization and to enable students to design urban spaces that reduce environmental impact, use energy and water efficiently, support green infrastructure, and improve urban livability.
Brief Content of the Course
Ecological approaches in planning and design; climate-sensitive and energy-efficient urban form; green/blue infrastructure and open-space systems; sustainable transportation and street design; use of renewable/low-impact materials in urban environments; evaluation of ecological performance of urban areas through case studies
