1 Professor, 2 Associate Professors and 4 Research Assistants work in our department. The Undergraduate Program is completed in 4 years and students who successfully complete all courses receive a bachelor's degree and are entitled to receive the title of Art Historian.

The aim of the Department of Art History is to provide students with an effective view of art by conducting art history education within a comprehensive cultural framework and to train art historians, teachers who can competently apply the art history education that is very necessary in our country, and researchers who can be useful in preserving and evaluating works of art.

In Art History education and training, the ability to recognize the birth and past stages of painting, sculpture, architecture, handicrafts and plastic arts and to follow current developments, to know the main periods and basic features of Turkish, Byzantine, Islamic and European arts and to understand their relations with other cultural environments. able to analyze; It is aimed to train Art Historians who have acquired the skills and methods of researching, examining, documenting, evaluating, interpreting and presenting what is not yet known in art history.

Art historians who successfully complete the Department of Art History can pursue an academic career by continuing their master's and doctoral programs. Students who graduate from our department have the opportunity to work as art historians in scientific excavations, in museums affiliated with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, in KUDEP units of municipalities, and as teachers in the Ministry of National Education after receiving formation training.
