GRADUATE COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

·         Has knowledge of the normal anatomical, histological, physiological, and psychological functioning of the oral, dental, maxillofacial, and related structures.

·         Explains the effects of physical, biological, environmental, cultural, and social factors on oral and dental health; evaluates individuals holistically within their environment.

·         Identifies pathological changes, symptoms, and clinical findings in oral, dental, and maxillofacial diseases.

·         Establishes diagnoses and performs treatment, follow-up, rehabilitation, and emergency interventions in accordance with modern dentistry practices.

·         Adopts cost-effective approaches in clinical practice.

·         Refers patients to appropriate centers in cases requiring multidisciplinary treatment and manages the referral process.

·         Knows and applies the basic principles of preventive dentistry aimed at protecting and improving the oral and dental health of individuals and society.

·         Has knowledge of current legal regulations, ethical principles, and professional responsibilities in dentistry.

·         Keeps patient records in compliance with legislation, uses digital systems effectively, and makes necessary notifications.

·         Communicates effectively with patients, their relatives, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals; maintains sustainable collaboration.

·         Practices the profession with a sense of responsibility, in line with humanistic and ethical values.

·         Uses information and communication technologies effectively in clinical and academic applications.

·         Understands the importance of lifelong learning in professional development; accesses reliable sources of information, evaluates knowledge critically, and applies it.

·         Knows the basic instruments, devices, and equipment used in dentistry and can use them effectively in primary clinical settings.

·         Is able to design scientific research, collect and analyze data, prepare research reports, and present or publish them at national or international platforms.

·         Uses Turkish correctly and effectively in both oral and written communication.

·         Can use at least one foreign language at a level sufficient to follow professional literature and apply it in practice.

·         Possesses basic managerial, organizational, and leadership skills, and can effectively manage patient care and clinical organization processes.
