Occupational Health and Safety Training Provided to Dentistry Students

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) training was provided to the students of Niğde Ömer Halisdemir Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi. The program aimed to raise awareness about potential risks that may be encountered during clinical practice and laboratory work and to strengthen a culture of safe working practices.

The training covered fundamental principles of occupational health and safety, professional risk factors, biological and chemical exposure, injuries caused by sharp instruments, infection control measures, the proper use of personal protective equipment, and emergency procedures. Students were also informed about their responsibilities in ensuring a safe clinical environment and the relevant legal regulations.

During the session, students’ questions were addressed, and key practical considerations were discussed through case examples.

It was emphasized that efforts related to occupational health and safety will continue regularly at our Faculty in order to support students’ academic and professional development and to maintain a safe educational environment.
